25 July 2023 - From July 25th to 26th, 2023, the Microbial Culture Collection Unit (UNiCC) successfully organised a 2-day workshop focused on Microbial Preservation Techniques Series 1/2023. The event attracted the participation of 24 individuals representing a diverse range of organisations including Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute (UMBI), Malaysia Genome and Vaccine Institute (MGVI), Kota Kinabalu Public Health Laboratory, Malaysian Nuclear Agency, SIRIM Berhad, Malaysian Vaccines and Pharmaceuticals Sdn Bhd, and Pure Circle Sdn Bhd. Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in hands-on activities designed to impart practical skills in the preservation of bacteria through both freeze drying and cryopreservation techniques.
