14 August 2023 - A webinar Let's Talk @IBS, Series 28 with iesResearch titled “Storytell Your Discovery Using Graphics to Make Your Science Memorable” was held virtually via Zoom, and delivered by Dr. Woei Fuh Wong, the General Manager of iesResearch. In his talk, he highlighted the importance of a Graphical Abstract, a simplified pictorial representation of a research study. An excellent visual abstract captures the readers' attention, improving the publication's online searchability. In this program, the researchers learned to use the storyboard of Big Why-What-How to identify their research novelty. The researchers also had a chance to familiarise themselves with visual tools like MindTheGraph or BioRenders, and to use them to edit a selected picture from the tool's gallery. By combining the skill of conceptualising or mind mapping the novelty, researchers will be able to transform their discovery into a visual capable of conveying complexity within a mere minute. This interactive webinar was participated by 72 participants, consisting of UPM staff and students.
