8 August 2023 – The Occupational Safety and Health Committee at the Institute of Bioscience (IBS), chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ina Salwany Md Yasin and in collaboration with IBS Management, coordinated a Basic First Aid and CPR Course on 8-9 August 2023, involving 30 IBS staff. This initiative aimed to familiarise the participants with the fundamental principles of first aid and proper emergency treatment techniques. The course featured lectures, demonstrations, and practical sessions led by three University Health Center (PKU) instructors, i.e. Dr. Suhyna Mohd Sulaiman (Medical Officer), Sn. Noor Mazzeatul Aini Zainudin (Nurse), and Mrs. Norfazilah Abdullah (Malaysian Red Crescent Trainer). Their contributions were vital to the course's success. Remarkably, the training's impact extended as 24 participants from the course later volunteered for the Malaysian Red Crescent's UPM Branch.
