Pharmacogenomics, Nutrigenomics and Nutraceutics

Synopsis :

The success of the Human Genome Project and the rapid development of molecular biological technology have opened a new era of medicine and nutrition. Pharmacogenomics and nutrigenomics are two important research areas in personalized medicine and nutrition. This program focuses on (a) the study of the mechanism of action and interaction of bioactive compounds by using various advanced omics technologies; (b) the design and development of novel nutraceutics and functional foods based on individual genetic make-up; (c) pre-clinical and clinical studies on the efficacy and safety of nutraceutics and functional foods, for the prevention and treatment of diseases related to lifestyle and aging; (d) bioavailability studies for the nutraceutics and functional foods, which are newly developed; and (e) commercialization of personalized nutraceutics and functional foods based on individual genotypes.
