Drug Discovery, Delivery and Therapeutics

The discovery of medicines as well as the development of new therapeutic techniques and products is the main pillar in the development of modern medicine. Humans are always threatened by new diseases and infections, the development of drug resistance, so new effective therapies and drugs must always be sought and developed. The program houses projects on the design and synthesis of bioactive compounds and therapeutic molecules with high medicinal potential, through computational chemistry methods and modeling, enabling technologies in advanced organic and analytical chemistry, biochemistry and pharmacology. In addition, the program focuses on the design and development of molecular delivery systems for new drugs and therapies, based on in-depth studies of physiochemical properties, toxicity, pharmacological profiles (pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics), therapeutic targets and drug interactions.
