SERDANG, Feb 27 – Laboratory of Marine Biotechnology, IBS has successfully organized a Workshop on Microbial Community and Phylogenetics Analysis: Application in Aquaculture. The workshop was designed to give a good understanding of the concept of microbial community and phylogenetics analysis that can be applied in fish health management and to gain the latest insights needed for research data analysis.

The workshop aims to deepen the understanding of the microbial community which is crucial for researchers in fish health management, as the microbial community plays an important role to implement effective preventive measures. Widely used phylogenetic analysis in microbial aquatic research has also been highlighted as an avenue where new knowledge and skills can be acquired in the management of fish health.

Attended by 33 participants, the workshop was conducted by invited speaker Prof. Dr. Mark  R. Liles from Auburn University, USA.
