28 August 2026 – The Institute of Biosciences (IBS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), successfully conducted the third series of its Talent@IBS Staff Development Programme, focusing on staff training and leave management procedures.

Held on Friday, 28 August 2026, at the Tongkat Ali Emas Seminar Room, IBS, from 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m., the programme provided staff with relevant knowledge and practical guidance on two key areas of staff administration at UPM.

The programme aimed to enhance staff understanding of training and leave management procedures while supporting the accurate, systematic and effective implementation of related administrative processes. It also served as a platform for continuous knowledge sharing and competency development among IBS support staff.

The opening session, presented by Puan Nor Hamizah Mashud, focused on the UPM Staff Training Management Procedure, particularly the evaluation process. She emphasized critical post-training requirements, highlighting the importance of managing training activities and documentation in line with official procedures.

Next, Puan Nur Haizum Halmi led the second session on UPM Staff Leave Management, giving participants a comprehensive overview of leave application procedures and key administrative considerations. The session also featured an interactive discussion, allowing participants to clarify real-world leave management scenarios.

The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where participants raised various questions related to training and leave management. The active participation reflected their interest and focus in gaining a clearer understanding of the procedures and their application in their daily work.

The third series of Talent@IBS reflects IBS’s continued commitment to strengthening staff competency through relevant and practical knowledge-sharing sessions. The programme also provides opportunities for staff to exchange views, seek clarification and enhance their understanding of work-related procedures.

Talent@IBS will continue to be organised with future sessions focusing on topics relevant to staff needs. This ongoing initiative is expected to support continuous competency development and foster a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the IBS community.
