12 January 2026 – The Institute of Bioscience (IBS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), received a courtesy visit from the Vice Chancellor of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Iqbal.

The visit was welcomed by the Director of IBS, Prof. Dr. Zunita Zakria, together with the Head of Aquatic Animal Health and Therapeutics Laboratory (AquaHealth), Prof. Dr. Noor Amal Azmai, and the Head of Laboratory of Vaccine and Biomolecules (VacBio), Prof. Dr. Nurulfiza Mat Isa. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Iqbal was briefed on the institute’s research expertise, laboratory facilities, and ongoing research activities.

Discussions focused on exploring potential academic and research collaborations between IBS, UPM and Bahauddin Zakariya University, including opportunities for researcher and postgraduate student exchange, as well as the implementation of joint research projects in the areas of biosciences and biotechnology.

The visit is expected to serve as a catalyst for strengthening international research networks and fostering impactful collaborative initiatives between the two institutions.
