21 May 2026 – The Institute of Bioscience welcomed a delegation comprising six (6) representatives from the Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre (SIDC). The delegation was warmly received by the management team and officers of the Institute of Bioscience.

The visit aimed to provide the delegation with exposure to the laboratory facilities, research expertise, and the functions of the various units within the Institute of Bioscience. During the visit, the delegation was also taken on a tour of several laboratories and research facilities to observe the ongoing research activities and capabilities of the institute.

In addition, a briefing and discussion session was held between the SIDC delegation and the management members of the Institute of Bioscience as a platform to exchange views and explore potential collaborations in research and development related to infectious diseases.

It is hoped that this visit will further strengthen the strategic relationship between the two institutions while opening up broader opportunities for future collaboration.
