5 March 2024 – The 2024 Safety and Health Inspection (PKK) was conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Inspection Team of Universiti Putra Malaysia at the Institute of Bioscience (IBS), focusing on selected scopes and laboratories. This inspection team comprised officers from the Occupational Safety and Health Management Office (PPKKP), the First Aid Unit, and the Center for Industrial Relations and Networking at UPM. The inspection covered various aspects, including fire prevention systems, occupational health and safety management, and compliance with relevant acts and regulations such as the Factories and Machinery Act 1967, the KKP (Use and Exposure Standards of Chemical Substances Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2000, Environmental Quality Regulations (Scheduled Waste) 2005, the Atomic Energy Licensing Act 1984, and the Biosafety Act 2007. Throughout the inspection process, all responsible officers and IBS staff demonstrated excellent cooperation and adherence to safety protocols.
