17 July 2025 – The Institute of Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), proudly hosted a Postgraduate Mobility Talk featuring Mr. Ritam Guha, a PhD student in Marine Biology from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kerala, India. The event took place at the Tongkat Ali Emas Seminar Room from 3:00PM to 4:00PM, and welcomed participation from IBS researchers and postgraduate students.
Mr. Ritam Guha, who is currently a PhD student attached to the Centre of Excellence for Aquatic Vaccine Development, CUSAT presented his research titled: “Development of novel glycol-vaccine delivery methods against bacterial infections in tilapia aquaculture.”
The talk focused on innovative approaches to combat bacterial infections in tilapia farming, a significant area of concern in the aquaculture industry. His research sheds light on how glycol-based delivery systems could enhance vaccine efficiency and fish health, contributing to more sustainable aquaculture practices.
With the tagline ‘Discover, Connect and Learn’, the session provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, international research collaboration, and postgraduate networking. The sharing session also highlighted IBS’s commitment to fostering global academic partnerships and advancing scientific discovery through student mobility programmes.
