2 March 2026 – In conjunction with the Ihya’ Ramadan 1447H programme, the Institute of Bioscience (IBS) deployed 15 volunteers on 26 February 2026 to participate in 

the ‘Bubur Lambuk Qaseh Ramadan’ programme held at the Universiti Putra Malaysia Mosque.

The programme, which ran from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., involved several activities including ingredient preparation, cooking, and the packaging of ‘bubur lambuk’ carried out through a collaborative effort among volunteers and the organising committee. Through their collective efforts, a total of 1,000 containers of ‘bubur lambuk’ were successfully prepared and later distributed starting at 4.15 p.m. to students, university staff, and members of the public passing through the mosque area.

The distribution session was officiated by the Director of the Institute of Bioscience, Prof. Dr. Zunita Zakaria, together with the Deputy Director, Prof. Dr. Ina Salwany Md Yasin. Their presence reflected the institute’s strong support for volunteerism and community welfare initiatives during the holy month of Ramadan.

The participation of IBS volunteers highlights the institute’s commitment to community engagement while fostering the spirit of Ramadan. The institute also expresses its appreciation to the Islamic Centre of Universiti Putra Malaysia for the opportunity given to IBS members to contribute and strengthen ties between the campus community and the public.
