13 February 2025 - The Institute of Bioscience (IBS) Director’s Address for the year 2025 was held at the Auditorium of the Institute of Bioscience. The event was attended by Management Members, Institute Researchers, and the entire IBS community, reflecting a strong commitment to supporting the vision and mission of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). This platform served as a key avenue for the IBS Director to share the institute’s achievements, strategic direction, and aspirations in driving excellence in 2025.

The address, delivered by Prof. Dr. Zunita Zakaria, Director of IBS, highlighted several key aspects, including:

✅ Organisational Structure & Administration – Strengthening IBS operational efficiency in alignment with UPM’s strategy.
✅ High-Impact Research Programmes – Focusing on university and institute priority areas to ensure significant contributions to the academic and industrial communities.
✅ Realising UPM’s Strategic Framework & True North – Ensuring IBS remains aligned with the university’s strategic direction.
✅ IBS 2024 Performance Analysis – Evaluating the effectiveness of past programmes and initiatives.
✅ IBS 2025 Focus & Planning – Outlining action plans towards achieving institutional goals.
✅ Implementation of UDRP & IDRP Strategic Plans – Enhancing research through a more structured approach.
✅ IBS 2021-2025 Strategic Plan and IBS 2024-2027 Special Projects – Laying the foundation for innovation and sustainable growth.

In her address, Prof. Dr. Zunita emphasised that IBS’s greatest strength lies in its spirit of unity. Success can only be achieved through strong collaboration as a synergised team. She concluded her address with a call for the IBS community to remain competitive and committed in realising the excellence of both the institute and the university.
