29 December 2024 - The Institute of Bioscience (IBS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) successfully organized Institute of Bioscience Graduate Celebration Ceremony 2024 at the Tongkat Ali Emas Seminar Room, IBS. The event marked a momentous occasion, celebrating the achievements of 22 postgraduate students who completed their Master's and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes in 2024.

In the opening speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Zunita Zakaria, Director of IBS, congratulated the graduates on their academic accomplishments. She emphasized the importance of research and innovation in shaping a better future for the nation. A multimedia presentation was followed, showcasing various student research and social activities, and achievements throughout their studies at IBS. The ceremony proceeded with the presentation of certificates and tokens of appreciation to the students and their supervisors.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Best PhD Thesis Award, sponsored by AquaGrow International, to Lim Si Jie for his outstanding achievement in his PhD studies. As the student representative, Lim delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing gratitude on behalf of all graduates to all the supervisors and staff of IBS. The speech reflected on the challenges and triumphs experienced during their academic journey and acknowledged the unwavering support of supervisors, families, and peers. The event concluded with a photography session, capturing memorable moments with the graduates, their supervisors, and family members who attended the ceremony.
