IBS EKSA BENCHMARKING VISIT TO THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH SCIENCES, UPM

29 June 2026 – Members of the Main Committee of the Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem (EKSA), Institute of Bioscience (IBS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) conducted an EKSA Benchmarking Visit to the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FPSK), UPM.

The visit, led by Puan Shamilah Samian, Chairperson of EKSA IBS, aimed to gain first-hand exposure to the implementation of EKSA practices and to learn from the best practices successfully adopted by the host faculty in creating a conducive, systematic and high-performing work environment.

During the visit, the IBS delegation toured several key areas recognised for their exemplary EKSA implementation, including the Computer Room, VIP Lounge, Lecture Hall, EKSA Corner, Best Pantry, Best Restroom, Computer Laboratory and the General Office of the Department of Human Anatomy. The delegation also had the opportunity to visit active teaching and research laboratories, including the Immunology Unit and the Otorhinolaryngology Laboratory.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Human Anatomy Museum, which houses a diverse collection of anatomical reference materials and serves as an educational platform for visitors and the academic community.

Throughout the sharing session, the host team highlighted how EKSA practices contribute towards establishing a safer, more organised and efficient laboratory and workplace environment, while enhancing overall organisational productivity.

IBS would like to express its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the FPSK EKSA Committee for their warm hospitality, excellent arrangements and valuable knowledge sharing throughout the visit.

It is hoped that this benchmarking visit will inspire and strengthen IBS’s continuous efforts in enhancing quality work culture and further improving EKSA implementation towards creating a more conducive, sustainable and excellent working environment.
