SERDANG, March 4 – 5 representatives from the Institute of Bioscience (IBS) attended a Contractor Safety Management briefing session organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Management (OSH) Office of UPM at the Dewan Taklimat Serdang, Canselori Putra Building. The 2-hour session focused on issues related to contractors in UPM was moderated by Mrs. Nor Afida Miskam and presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Rafee Baharuddin, Director of OSH UPM. Topics covered were the current practices on monitoring contractors, security issues for contractors’ working period, hazards and risk exposure to the contractors. Permit to Work (PTW) will be implemented in UPM alongside with new monitoring method and guideline – UPM.
