18 December 2025 – UPM-MAKNA Cancer Research Laboratory (CANRES) conducted a benchmarking visit to two laboratories at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), namely the Department of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (DTERM) and the Bioserasi Laboratory, as part of its year-end activities for 2025. The primary objective of this visit was to learn best practices in the systematic management of tissue culture laboratories, as well as to gain exposure to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) management systems. Both visits were led by the Head of CANRES Laboratory, Associate Professor Dr. Chia Suet Lin.

The visit to DTERM was conducted earlier on 8 December 2025, where the CANRES delegation was welcomed by the Head of DTERM, Dr. Manira Maarof. Meanwhile, the visit to the Bioserasi Laboratory took place on 18 December 2025 and was hosted by Dr. Siew Ee Ling, Head of the Bioserasi Laboratory. Throughout both visits, the CANRES delegation participated in informative presentations, interactive two-way discussions, and guided tours of the laboratory facilities. As a result of these visits, potential opportunities for future collaboration were identified, particularly in staff training initiatives aimed at strengthening existing skills and competencies.
