11 October 2023 - Putra Science Park (PSP) organised the 2023 InnoHub Program and Research Product Development Grant (GPPP) Roadshow at the Kesidang Utama Meeting Room in the Institute of Bioscience (IBS). The event was attended by 10 participants, including members of the management, Research Officers, Science Officers, and Associate Researchers. This roadshow was part of PSP's outreach to the Faculties and Institutes at UPM, and IBS had the privilege of being the first centre visited by PSP. The briefing was graced by the presence of Prof. Ir. Dr. Hj. Kamarul Arifin Ahmad, the Director of PSP. The briefing covered various topics, including an explanation of the InnoHub Program, which was delivered by Ts. Dr. Saiful Hasley Ramli, the InnoHub Coordinator. 

The InnoHub Program is designed to support the development of start-up companies that aim to commercialise UPM's technology. It offers a grant of RM90,000 to UPM staff and encourages technology entrepreneurs to transform UPM's technology and innovations into market-ready products through market validation. Additionally, PSP provided insights into the GPPP, presented by Mrs. Noor Fadilah Ayu Wichi from the Grant Management Unit. This grant is intended to assist researchers in identifying market needs and mitigating investor risks in financing high-risk projects or technologies with the goal of commercialisation. It can be used to propel specific technologies or services toward commercialisation, with an allocation of up to RM100,000 per project and a maximum project duration of one year. The briefing concluded with a question-and-answer session, where officers and researchers at IBS had the opportunity to seek clarifications and address any inquiries they had regarding the InnoHub Program and GPPP.
