Education and work history

Dr. Yu Choo Yee obtained his Bachelor of Health Science in Biomedicine (Honours) and Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Biotechnology from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He was a recipient of Vice-Chancellor’s Award at USM and won various awards at national and international exhibitions and conferences. Previously he has worked as a High Impact Post-Doctoral Researcher at University of Malaya (UM) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) before joining private industry as a Chief Scientific Officer. His specialization includes but not limited to genomic, application of next-generation sequencing, disease epidemiology and outbreak investigations, molecular genetics, development of biosensors and rapid diagnostic tests. He has more than 30 publications in these fields including journal articles, book chapters and patent. He also serves as an expert reviewer for various prestigious journals.
