Pharmacogenomics, Nutrigenomics and Nutraceutics

The success of the Human Genome Project and the rapid development of molecular biology technology have opened a new era of medicine and nutrition. Pharmacogenomics and nutrigenomics are two important research fields in personalized medicine and nutrition. This program focuses on: (a) Studying the mechanism of action and interactions of bioactive compounds using various advanced omics technologies; (b) Design and development of medicines, nutraceuticals and novel functional foods that are compatible with personal genetic characteristics; (c) Pre-clinical and clinical studies of the efficacy and safety of drugs, nutraceuticals and novel functional foods for the prevention and treatment of lifestyle diseases and aging; (d) Bioavailability studies for drugs, nutraceuticals and novel functional foods developed; (e) Commercialization of medicines, nutraceuticals and functional foods that are personalized according to individual genotypes.
