The success of the Human Genome Project and the rapid development of molecular biology technology have opened a new era of medicine and nutrition. Pharmacogenomics and nutrigenomics are two important research fields in personalized medicine and nutrition. This program focuses on:(a) Studying the mechanism of action and interactions of bioactive compounds using various advanced omics technologies;(b) Design and development of medicines, nutraceuticals and novel functional foods that are compatible with personal genetic characteristics;(c) Pre-clinical and clinical studies of the efficacy and safety of drugs, nutraceuticals and novel functional foods for the prevention and treatment of lifestyle diseases and aging;(d) Bioavailability studies for drugs, nutraceuticals and novel functional foods developed;(e) Commercialization of medicines, nutraceuticals and functional foods that are personalized according to individual genotypes. |
