17 August 2023 - The Biodiversity Unit has organized the Go Green Program at the Conservatory Park and EKSA Gotong Royong activities around the Institute of Bioscience (IBS). A total of 75 IBS staff were involved in the activity. The Go Green Program is one of the activities that support the environmental sustainability agenda at the university level in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This effort is aimed to produce staff who are always aware of environmental issues. Guided by Universiti Putra Malaysia's Green Policy, the Go Green IBS Program endeavors to instill awareness and educate Bioscience Institute staff about the profound benefits of environmental stewardship. Through activities like tree planting, fostering a sense of collaboration, and nurturing camaraderie within the Bioscience Institute, we aim to conserve the rich biodiversity of our natural surroundings while mitigating the adverse effects of greenhouse gas emissions contributing to extreme climate change. Simultaneously, the EKSA Gotong Royong initiative unfolded on the same day through the concerted efforts of the Institute's Welfare Club, Institute's Management, and the Biodiversity Unit. This collective effort serves multifaceted objectives, including creating an enabling environment, enhancing our corporate image, fueling creativity and innovation in line with stakeholder demands, and ensuring that our audit criteria meet the diverse requirements of various government agencies. We are delighted to report that the engagement and dedication of IBS staff were evident throughout the event, as all parties collaborated harmoniously in the meticulous preparation of their designated roles.
