21 November 2023 - The Institute of Bioscience (IBS) hosted a delegation of 12 representatives from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. This visit served as a reciprocal gesture, following a prior visit by IBS researchers, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ina Salwany Md. Yassin, the Deputy Director of IBS.

The delegation from Universitas Gadjah Mada was led by Prof. Dr. Alim Isnansetyo, the Head of the Fisheries Department in the Faculty of Agriculture. The primary objective of this visit is to enhance the collaborative ties between the two institutions, particularly in the realms of academic and research activities.

The visitors were provided with a comprehensive briefing on the IBS and Aquatic Animal Health and Therapeutics Laboratory (AquaHealth) at the Kesidang Utama Meeting Room. This session was attended by key members of both institutions' management. Additionally, a sharing and question-and-answer session took place between management representatives from both institutions. Subsequently, the delegation toured the AquaHealth to observe the laboratory's facilities. The explanation was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Noor Amal Azmai, the Head of Laboratory, with the assistance from his Research Officers. This visit is anticipated to fortify the existing cooperative relationship between Universiti Putra Malaysia and Universitas Gadjah Mada, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to high-impact research endeavors.
