20 March 2023 – A team of 11 delegates from the National Public Health Laboratory (MKAK), led by Dr. Nor Zahrin Hasran (Public Health Physician), visited the Microbial Culture Collection Unit (UNiCC), Institute of Bioscience. MKAK is the coordinator and project manager of the National Disease Control Center in Malaysia. The aims of this visit were to identify the rooms for improvement in designing the laboratory as well as the existing data application system for microbial culture collection. The visit started with an introduction session, followed by presentations and discussions from both parties. Officers from UNiCC had generally briefed the delegates on the management of microbial culture collections and the program was continued with the laboratory visit on the available equipment, facilities and storage of the culture collection.
