14 September 2023 – The Aquatic Animal Health and Therapeutics Laboratory (AquaHealth) at Institute of Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia, in collaboration with Ecojubilee Aquaculture Resources, had organised a programme on fish health management with fish farmers at VL Ocean Services in Semenyih, Selangor. This programme was attended by 20 farmers from Selangor, Johor, Kelantan, and Sarawak. The speakers included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ina Salwany Md Yasin, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Noor Amal Azmai, Dr. Nur Diyana Mohamad Tahir, and ChM. Muhammad Farhan Nazarudin from AquaHealth, as well as Dr. Pang Sing Tung from Ecojubilee Aquaculture Conglomerate Resources. The programme took place from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm and covered various topics related to water quality and aquatic animal health management. Additionally, a demonstration session of fish dissection was conducted as part of the programme.

This programme served as an invaluable platform for knowledge exchange and interaction between researchers, fish farmers, and industry professionals. It enabled researchers to gain firsthand insights into the challenges faced by fish farmers and allowed for the sharing of best practices in aquaculture. The collaborative spirit of the event is expected to enhance research quality and contribute to improved production outcomes in the future.
