MGVI

Institute of Bioscience (IBS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has been invited by the National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia (NIBM) to attend the launching ceremony of the National Vaccine Development Roadmap (PPVN) and the Malaysian Institute of Genome and Vaccine (MGVI) on 1 November 2021. The ceremony was officiated by the Prime Ministry, Dato’ Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and attended by the Minister of MOSTI, Dato’ Sri Dr. Adham Baba, Minister of MOHE, Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad, Minister of MOH, Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar, Deputy Minister of MOSTI, Datuk Haji Ahmad Amzad Hashim and other honorable guests. Representative from UPM consists of our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, Deputy VC Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Nazamid Saari, IBS Director, Prof. Dr. Zunita Zakaria, Putra Science Park Director, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Hair Bejo, IBS Deputy Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syahrilnizam Abdullah, Head of UPM-MAKNA Cancer Research Laboratory, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chia Suet Lin, Head of Laboratory of Vaccine and Biomolecules, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurulfiza Mat Isa, Head of Aquatic Animal Health and Therapeutic Laboratory, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ina Salwany Md. Yassin, and honorable guest of invitation Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Khatijah Yusoff. A MOU exchange between UPM and NIBM on vaccine development was announced during the event. IBS set up a booth presenting the vaccine research in the institute and was visited by the Prime Minister and other ministers during the event.
