24 November 2023 - The Institute of Bioscience (IBS) organised a Ceremony to Celebrate IBS Graduates in conjunction with the 47th Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Convocation Ceremony, scheduled to take place from November 25 to 30, 2023. This annual program was designed to celebrate the achievements of future graduates along with their extended families at IBS, fostering stronger connections. The ceremony also served as a platform to recognise outstanding graduates, allowing them to share their success with family, supervisors, and friends. It served as an inspiration for other students to persistently pursue academic excellence throughout their graduate studies.

This year, a total of 12 graduates will be awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees, and 9 graduates will be awarded Master of Science degrees. Souvenirs and certificates were presented to IBS graduates who attended the ceremony by Professor Dr. Daud Ahmad Israf Ali, Director of IBS.

To acknowledge the academic excellence of IBS students, the BIO-Angle VACS Best Master Thesis Prize was awarded to Muhammad Aiman Haiqal Ismail, a Master (Pharmacology and Toxicology) student, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Muhammad Nazrul Hakim Abdullah. This prize, sponsored by Syarikat BIO-Angle VACS Sdn Bhd, recognized outstanding achievements in various criteria, including viva results, publications, graduation period, and cumulative CGPA.

Similarly, the Aquagrow International Best PhD Thesis Prize was presented to Ferdous Umme Tamanna, a PhD (Medical Biotechnology) student, supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Zetty Norhana Balia Yusof. Sponsored by Syarikat AquaGrow International Sdn Bhd, this prize acknowledged excellence in viva results, publications, graduation period, and cumulative CGPA.

Congratulations are extended to all IBS graduates and supervisors for their outstanding achievements. Special thanks go to AquaGrow International Sdn Bhd and BIO-Angle VACS Sdn Bhd for sponsoring the IBS prize for five years, as well as the Executive Committee of the Institute of Bioscience Graduate Celebration Ceremony 2023.
