21 February 2023 - The UPM-MAKNA Cancer Research Laboratory (CANRES), Institute of Bioscience, UPM has organized the CANRES Open Day 2023: Series 1. The CANRES Open Day is a community program that invites selected participants to pay a visit to the CANRES research laboratory. During the laboratory visit, participants were exposed to procedures and equipment used in conducting preliminary experiments prior to the isolation and purification of bioactive compounds from natural resources for further cancer research. The participants had attended a hands-on session on the extraction of medicinal plants as well as a briefing session on the cancer cell culture room equipment. The invited participants consisted of members from non-governmental organizations that were involved in the programs with cancer patients and Malaysian Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA) had been invited to attend the first series of CANRES Open Day program.
