Dr. Cheah Yoke Kqueen is a Professor of Genetic Engineering, Molecular Biology, and Bioinformatics. He earned his BSc in Biomedical Science, an MSc in Molecular Biology followed by a PhD in Genetic Engineering and Molecular Biology completed in 2006. He also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Bioinformatics in 2018. He obtained his Master of Business Administration from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, United Kingdom He is a Consultant Molecular Diagnostics and Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council member. He was also the founding member of the Malaysian Biomedical Science Association and BiomedKL (Persatuan Graduan Bioperubatan Kuala Lumpur dan Selangor). Prof. Ts. Dr. Cheah Yoke Kqueen involved in multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary research ranging from fundamental cancer biology, food safety, microbes, bioinformatics, and molecular diagnostics to drug discovery. His work and services also emphasize on molecular diagnostics for non-communicable diseases (NCD) and infectious diseases, genetics, bioinformatics, endophytes, and genetic engineering. Prof. Ts. Dr. Cheah is also actively involved in the Malaysia Antarctic Research Program which unravels novel microorganisms and their metabolites for medical and industry applications. He has authored and co-authored a number of national and international publications and also works as a reviewer for reputed professional journals. He also secured a number of national, international, and industrial grants. He also has an active association with different societies and academies worldwide. Prof. Ts. Dr. Cheah is the Editor in Chief for Life Sciences, Medicine and Biomedicine. He is is active in many professional bodies and non-governmental organisations. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), a Chartered Scientist and Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science in the United Kingdom, a Chartered Biologist and Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology in the United Kingdom, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in the United Kingdom. He was recognised in 2017 as one of the Top Research Scientist Malaysia (TRSM), and in 2022, he was listed in the Malaysia Book of Records. |
