Education and work history

A Professor of Medical Microbiology and Consultant Clinical Microbiologist. Her research relates to clinical microbiology with multidisciplinary experts, including in One Health/zoonosis, immunobiology and health education. She is involved in the regional network for Group B Streptococcus and has international collaboration on the study of microbial community such as gut microbiota. She led her department members in the setting up of a molecular laboratory at Hospital Pengajar Universiti Putra Malaysia for the detection of SARSCoV-2. She is active in professional societies such as Malaysian Society of Infectious Diseases and Chemotherapy and College of Pathologists, Academy of Medicine Malaysia.
