Education and work history

Professor Dr Mohd Shukuri Mohamad Ali’s is an active researcher with special interest to understand the structure, function and stabilization of extreme enzymes and proteins for industrial and biotechnological applications. Currently, his research focuses on the understanding of protein adaptation at low temperature of ipolytic enzymes from Antarctic microbes and on organic solvent tolerant enzymes. He generally employs enzyme technology and structural biochemistry using biophysics and X-rays. He also keen to utilize computational molecular modeling and simulation to complement the experimental structural determination approach. He is a principle investigator of Enzyme and Microbial Technology Research Centre (EMTech). He is also a council member of the Asia Pacific Protein Association, member of the Biochemical Society, UK and Protein Society in the US
