Education and work history

Dr. Mohd Azuraidi Osman obtained his PhD from the Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease, University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. His research interest is in the field of microRNA in bone development and cancer. His current research work focuses on the roles of microRNAs in bone health by targeting sclerostin protein (SOST), a negative regulator of new bone formation. By using microRNA mimics and inhibitors, potential microRNAs that can be manipulated to be used as a new type of treatment to treat bone related diseases especially osteoporosis can be identified.
