Education and work history

Associate Professor Dr Mariatulqabtiah’s main research interest is in the field of veterinary vaccinology and immunology, including strategies and technologies in vaccine development, immunomodulatory molecules, and host immune response. Her current work is focusing on virus-like nanoparticles as a countermeasure preparedness against several viral diseases including the zoonosis avian influenza or bird flu. She is a member of the Young Scientists Network – Academy of Sciences Malaysia, and was the first Malaysian to receive the International Veterinary Vaccinology Network research grant, funded by the MRC, BBSRC and GCRF, UK.
