This research programme focuses on the discovery and development of biotherapeutics agents for common and emerging diseases, and alternative to antibiotics. Researches within this program also involved on locally isolated beneficial microbiome and their metabolites, for their functionalities and various therapeutic applications The discovery of new antibacterial and antiviral therapies against multi-drug resistance microorganisms are of the importance. In addition, the researches include investigation of resistance development mechanism in opportunistic and pathogenic bacteria, surveillance of antibiotic resistance in the community environment, and genome editing technologies such as CRISPR-based antimicrobials system to fight and prevent infections. |
