Programme : Translational Genomics Research
Programme Leader : Prof. Dr. Rozita Rosli
The translational genomics research program focuses on application of new molecular technologies in the identification of genetic and epigenetic alterations of various pathways of carcinogenesis or the cancer microenvironment of common cancers especially that of the Asian-specific genetic variation.
The ability to probe and understand cancers from an Asian genotypic perspective will enable the discovery of novel biomarkers for diagnosis and therapy that efficiently targets molecular events in carcinogenesis that are more prevalent in the Asian population. Understanding the genetic changes contributing to disease progression and resistance to therapy would ultimately contribute towards the goal of developing cancer gene therapy and personalized cancer therapy.
