29 April 2026 – WORKSHOP ON SAMPLE PREPARATION TECHNIQUES FOR ELECTRON MICROSCOPY IN LIFE SCIENCES was organized on 28 April 2026 at the Microscopy Unit, Institute of Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia . This workshop focus on the aspects of preparing Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Transmission electron microscope (TEM) samples which are the main aspects in producing quality electron micrographs.

The objective of this workshop is to provide participants with knowledge and skills related to biological sample preparation techniques for SEM and TEM analysis and also to provide participants with knowledge and skills in techniques for producing quality electron micrographs through sample preparation.

This workshop was conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Intan Shameha Abdul Razak (Microscopy Unit Coordinator, Institute of Bioscience) , Mr. Rafiuz Zaman Haroun (Science Officer, Microscopy Unit, Institute of Bioscience) and Mrs. Irmazian Abd. Shukor (Science Officer, Microscopy Unit, Institute of Bioscience) . Meanwhile, for the practical and demonstration slots in the afternoon was assisted by all staff from the Microscopy Unit, Institute of Biosciences. A total of 16 participants attended this workshop, consisting of graduate students, researchers, technical staff and industry.
