4 September 2025 – Workshop on Preparation of Biological Samples for Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Analysis was organized on 3 – 4 September 2025 at the Microscopy Unit, Institute of Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia at the request of the Faculty of Science & Mathematics, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Tanjung Malim, Perak. This workshop was also attended by 13 faculty staff.

The objective of this workshop is to provide knowledge and skills to members of the FSM lab, Faculty of Science & Mathematics, UPSI on the preparation of biological samples and also the operation of biological sample preparation equipment for scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis.

This workshop was conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Intan Shameha Abdul Razak (Microscopy Unit Coordinator, Institute of Bioscience) as the first speaker and Mr. Rafiuz Zaman Haroun (Science Officer, Microscopy Unit, Institute of Bioscience) as the second speaker. Meanwhile, for the practical and "Hands On" slots on the second day, this workshop was assisted by all staff from the Microscopy Unit, Institute of Biosciences.
