10 July 2024 - A delegation from the Institute of Bioscience (IBS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), visited the Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH), Indonesia on 10 July 2024. This academic visit, led by Associate Professor Dr. Ina Salwany Md Yasin, aimed to exchange knowledge and experience, as well as to create collaborative opportunities between the two institutions in joint research projects, scholarly publications, as well as student and academic staff exchange programs. The IBS delegation was warmly welcomed by the faculty dean, Dr. Ir. Tengku Ersti Yulika Sari. The visit began with discussions, the exchange of Letter of Intent with the UMRAH faculty dean, and concluded with a tour of the faculty's laboratories and classrooms. Additionally, the IBS delegation had the opportunity to visit a nearby fish farming community. They engaged with the fish farmers and visited their fish cages, accompanied by representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. The IBS delegation also took the opportunity to exchange ideas and knowledge with the fish farming community in Indonesia.
