12 January 2026 – The Universiti Putra Malaysia Microbial Culture Collection (UPM-MCC), Institute of Bioscience, organised a Roadshow Programme to the Institute of Plantation Studies (IKP), UPM. The programme was led by Prof. Dr. Zunita Zakaria, Director of the Institute of Bioscience and Advisor to UPM-MCC, who delivered a talk on the importance of long-term preservation of microbial cultures and introduced the Universiti Putra Malaysia Policy (Deposition of Significance Microorganisms) 2024. Also present were Ms. Musliyana Mansor (Science Officer) and Ms. Ainaa Syafiqah Mohd Alias (Assistant Science Officer).
A total of 15 participants from IKP attended the programme, comprising Prof. Dr. Wong Mui Yun (Deputy Director of IKP), management member, P&P Officers, technical staff, and postgraduate students. The programme is expected to enhance awareness among the UPM community on the importance of preservation and deposition of microorganisms in line with university policy.
