11 July 2025 | Institute of Bioscience, UPM – The Research Proposal Seminar for the SPS5903/SPS6903 course was successfully organised by the Postgraduate Studies Section on Friday, 11 July 2025, at the Kesidang Utama Meeting Room, Institute of Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia. The event took place from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
A total of eight postgraduate students participated in the seminar, comprising six PhD candidates and two Master of Science students. Each participant presented their respective research proposals, covering a wide range of fields including Aquatic Animal Health, Molecular Biotechnology, Medical Biotechnology, Medical Microbiology, Medicinal Chemistry, Microbiology, and Biotherapeutics.
The seminar was moderated by Mrs. Farah Deena Zainol, while Mrs. Nurfadhilah Md. Khalid served as the programme’s secretariat. Presentations were evaluated by a panel of experienced assessors, namely Associate Professor Dr. Chia Suet Lin, Associate Professor Dr. Yaya Rukayadi, Associate Professor Dr. Annas Salleh, Associate Professor Dr. Henny Akit, Dr. Norhariani Mohd Nor, and Dr. Zarirah Zulperi.
The seminar aimed to strengthen research and academic communication skills among students, while also providing a valuable platform for receiving constructive feedback from seasoned academics. This initiative reflects the Institute of Bioscience’s continued commitment to nurturing high-calibre researchers who are capable of contributing to the advancement of knowledge and technology at the global level.
