This review updates on the progress of research regarding the use of Citrus hystrix in metabolic disorders. Phytochemical compounds, including β-pinene, sabinene, citronellal, and citronellol, have been detected in the plant; and its extract exhibited potential antidiabetic, antihyperlipidemic, anti-hypertensive and anti-obesity properties.
