9 July 2024 – The Reading Corner Read@IBS participated in the judging session for the READ@UNI UPM 2024 Reading Corner Competition. The evaluation was conducted by Mdm. Siti Khairiah Yusof from the Engineering and Architecture Library, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and Mr. Mohamad Amirul Iqhmal Mohamad Badrul Zaman from the Sultan Abdul Samad Library, UPM.

Present at the judging session were Prof. Dr. Zunita Zakaria, Director of Institute of Bioscience (IBS); members of the IBS management; the Read@IBS Reading Corner Committee; and other IBS staff. The judges were briefed on the progress and activities of Read@IBS from 2023 to 2024. Additionally, during the session, the IBS Director inaugurated the SDG@IBS Paper Bag Project. This initiative allows IBS members to deposit and retrieve used paper bags to support recycling efforts and environmental sustainability. The Director also launched a digital frame that enables readers to access online books by scanning the provided QR code.
