16 January 2025 - A session of In-house Training @ AquaHealth with Progene Link Sdn Bhd, titled “Maximizing Research with Microplate Reader Technology” was conducted at Bilik Tongkat Ali Emas, Institute of Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia. The training began with a seminar delivered by Mr. Joko Logis, a Technical Sales and Service Officer from BMG Labtech Australia. The seminar focused on the instruments, their fundamentals, and applications.  

Mr. Joko, who has a background in biotechnology and applied sciences, provides comprehensive support and tailored solutions to users across the APAC (Asia-Pacific) region. The seminar was highly engaging, with participants actively voicing their concerns, all of which were thoughtfully addressed by Mr. Joko.  

Following the seminar, a demonstration of the microplate reader was conducted by Ms. Shalini Markandan, an Account Manager from Progene Link Sdn Bhd. Ms. Shalini has optimized more than 10 bioassays and contributed to the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation of the ORAC assay as a Technical Manager and SAMM-approved signatory. During the demonstration, participants had the opportunity to inspect the internal components of the instrument, observe sample preparation, and gain insights into data analysis. The training program was attended by staff, students, and researchers from the Institute of Bioscience, as well as participants from other related agencies.
