SERDANG, Feb 21 – Occupational Safety and Health Committee, Institute of Bioscience (IBS) has conducted in-house Q1 inspection at 15 selected work units (chemistry laboratories) from 3rd – 21st February 2020 as part of mandatory activities required in the Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) 1994. The inspection was conducted impartially by internal IBS’s OSH Committee, which includes elements of environmental condition of laboratories, equipment, fire extinguishers, chemical management, waste management, personal protective equipment (PPE), first aid kits, fume hoods, compressed gas cylinder, machinery and manual operations. Findings will be presented in IBS Occupational Safety and Health Meeting, aimed for the continuous improvement towards safety and healthy working environment in IBS.- UPM
