Edu@VacBio Series 2 - Lab Water Seminar: Importance of Pure Water Quality in Laboratory Applications

20 March 2025 – The Laboratory of Vaccine and Biomolecules (VacBio), in partnership with Merck, successfully organized the Edu@VacBio Series 2 - Lab Water Seminar on the Importance of Pure

Water Quality in Laboratory Applications. The event took place at the Tongkat Ali Emas Seminar Room, Institute of Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

The seminar was attended by 23 participants, including students and staff from UPM, who had the opportunity to gain beneficial insights into the significance of high-quality pure water in laboratory applications. The invited speaker, Mr. Marcus Yeong, delivered a detailed presentation on the importance of water purity in scientific research and its impact on the accuracy and reliability of experimental results.

The event commenced with a welcoming session, followed by an informative talk by Mr. Marcus Yeong. Participants learned about the different types of laboratory water purification systems, contamination risks, and the importance of maintaining consistent water quality for reliable research results.

During the seminar, a quiz session using Kahoot! was conducted to engage participants and reinforce their understanding of the presented topics.

After the seminar, a demonstration on the Milli-Q® SQ 240C Purification System was conducted, showcasing its functions, features, and benefits in laboratory settings. Attendees had the chance to observe the system in action and ask questions regarding its operation and maintenance.
