29 August 2024 - Dr. Nor Asma Ab Razak, a Research Officer at the Natural Medicines and Products Research Laboratory (NaturMeds), Institute of Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), was honored with the Hope Administrator Award (Silver Medal) at the Majlis Anugerah Gemilang MASTI 2024 (MAGMA’24). The award ceremony took place on August 20, 2024, at the DoubleTree Resort in Penang. UPM earned six individual awards and two society awards through the Persatuan Pentadbir UPM (PPUPM).

The award was presented by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Mustapha Sakmud. MAGMA’24 was held in conjunction with the National Administrative Day Celebration and the Public University Administrators Convention 2024. The event was organised by the Malaysian Association of Public University Administrators (MASTI), in collaboration with the Association of Administrative and Professional Officers of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (POTENSI), the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT), and the Registrar Committee of Public Universities Malaysia (JKPUA).

The ceremony also featured the Public University Administrators Excellence Award 2024, which recognised achievements across 15 categories. Additionally, the event included the launch of the MASTI Book on Administrative Skills and Association Image, the IT Lead Book on Digital Resilience: Navigating Transformation in a Dynamic Environment, and the MASTI mobile application. MAGMA aims to share best practices and recognise outstanding public university administrators, distinguished national figures, and exemplary organisations that have made significant contributions to the prestige of public universities and public service. Also in attendance were Professor Datuk Dr. Zaliman Sauli, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Perlis; Datuk Dr. Adnan Mat, President of the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public Service (CUEPACS); and Wan Mohd Wazir Wan Abdul Wahab, President of MASTI.
