30 September 2025 – A delegation from Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Indonesia consisting of seven members and led by Dr. Putri Desi Wulan Sari, Head of the Aquaculture Department , Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, UNAIR, visited the Aquatic Animal Health and Therapeutics Laboratory (AquaHealth) , Institute of Bioscience (IBS) starting from 9.00 a.m. – 4.15 p.m.
The purpose of this visit was to discuss the student mobility internship programme involving seven students from UNAIR, which will take place from 28 October 2025 to 24 November 2025 at AquaHealth. This visit also aimed to strengthen academic and research networks as well as explore opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions. The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Zunita Zakaria, Director of IBS, together with Prof. Dr. Ina Salwany Md Yasin, Deputy Director of IBS, and Prof. Mohammad Noor Amal Azmai, Head of the AquaHealth, IBS.
The discussion session began with a brief introduction by Prof. Mohammad Noor Amal Azmai about research programmes in aquaculture, particularly on aquatic animal health management, and development of fish vaccine technology and therapeutics technologies. After the discussion, the delegation was taken to visit the AquaHealth laboratories and the IBS Conservatory Park. The delegation also visited several areas within UPM, including faculties and student accommodation.
The visit concluded at 4.30 p.m. with mutual appreciation and commitment to continue cooperation in the future.
