1 November 2025 – UPM-MAKNA Cancer Research Laboratory (CANRES), Institute of Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia, successfully organised CANRES Outreach Program 2025 at Farmstay Relau, Bandar Baharu, Kedah. The program was led by Dr. Aida Azrina Azmi as the Program Director. It was jointly organised with Persatuan Perubatan Islam Malaysia (PAPISMA) Kedah Branch, the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), and several strategic industry partners.
With the theme “Love Life, Prevent Cancer – Awareness Campaign, Early Screening & STEM Activities for the Community”, the program brought together the local community of Mukim Relau through a series of health and educational activities. The program featured health awareness talks, general and cancer screening sessions, interactive STEM activities, and community fitness exercises, all conducted in an engaging and enjoyable manner that fostered active community involvement.
The program received an encouraging response from the residents and is hoped to enhance public awareness on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and early cancer screening. Beyond health promotion, the initiative also strengthened strategic collaborations between academia, healthcare agencies, and industry partners, reflecting a shared commitment to nurturing a health-conscious, knowledgeable, and proactive community.
