5 March 2025 - The Institute of Bioscience is pleased to welcome a visit from the Institute of Fatwa and Halal (IFFAH), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). A total of nine visitors attended, led by the Director of IFFAH, USIM. This benchmarking visit serves as a platform for gaining knowledge and experience in preparation for achieving recognition as a Higher Education Centre of Excellence (HICoE). As the first institute at UPM to be recognised as a Higher Education Centre of Excellence (HICoE) in 2010 and officially commissioned by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education in December 2020, IBS is open to sharing its experiences with IFFAH, USIM. Hopefully, this visit will support IFFAH in its efforts to become a Centre of Excellence in Higher Education (HICoE), achieve its objectives, and mark the beginning of a strong network of mutual cooperation.
