13 May 2024 - The Conservatory Park of the Institute of Bioscience (IBS) participated in the Program Jom Masuk U Zon Tengah II 2024, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), which took place from May 11 to 12, 2024. Alongside the Conservatory Park, several other locations were included in the tour packages offered by Edupark Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), such as the Malay Heritage Museum, the Animal Anatomy Museum, and the Human Anatomy Museum. Four schools visited the Conservatory Park: Bandar Banting National High School, Bukit Changgang National High School, Putrajaya Precinct 11(1) National High School, and Puchong National High School. During their visit, students engaged in activities designed to help them identify plants, particularly those with medicinal value, using their senses of sight, touch, smell, and taste. They also learned about traditional medicine and the use of herbs for treating diseases, a practice that has been passed down through generations. It is hoped that programs like this will be held more frequently to educate visitors, especially the younger generation, about the importance of traditional medicinal knowledge, contributing to a more informed and knowledgeable society.
